Bahrain holding company Mumtalakat will sell stakes in some of its companies, according to a media report.
Finance Minister and company chairman Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa disclosed this in Parliament in response to a letter by some MPs, reported Akhbar Al Khaleej, our sister paper.
The investment arm of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Mumtalakat, now manages a portfolio of around $10 billion, focused primarily in Bahrain.
'Mumtalakat' is an active shareholder and investor in diverse business and industry sectors in 35 commercial enterprises, nationally and internationally, from aluminum production to property development, tourist sites to food production, and transport to telecommunication.
The companies include Aluminum Bahrain (Alba), Bahrain Airport Company, Bahrain International Circuit, Gulf Air, Al-Awali Real Estate Company and Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard (Asry).-TradeArabia News Service
