Jotun Paints is exhibiting its industry leading, eco-friendly brands at the ‘Urban Waterfronts 2008’ conference running from November 16 to 18, in Dubai.
The ‘Fenomastic Emulsion’ and ‘Jotashield Thermo’ brands reflect Jotun’s strong support for the eco-construction or ‘green building’ concept spreading across the UAE.
The leading manufacturer assists developers in meeting Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (Leed) standards and attaining maximum Leed credits through its eco-friendly interior and exterior paint range.
Fenomastic Emulsion is a fine acrylic copolymer based emulsion with low VOC levels that contributes positively to healthy indoor air quality. Due to its high durability and superior washability, Fenomastic Emulsion has excellent flow and coverage, therefore giving a smooth surface.
Both paints have low volatile organic compound content, thus making them desirable for sustainable site development. They also help meet the requirements of the Leed certification for new construction and major renovations to pass Green Building Rating Standards.
“Our company has created a variety of conventional and specialised paints and coatings that incorporate the latest technological developments and have minimum environmental impact,” said Eirik Kristensen, regional marketing manager (Middle East), Jotun Paints.
Jotashield Thermo is the only paint classified as an insulator. Its solar reflective system is specially formulated to provide thermal insulation and anti-carbonation properties, which when applied to a villa or tower building will result in superior heat deflection and reduced interior temperature and cooling costs. These properties help the villa or building to be energy efficient.
‘Urban Waterfronts 2008’ promotes the creation of livable waterfront cities through strategic plans that emphasise responsible resource use.
Its goal is to promote the leveraging of sustainable community development initiatives, efficient transport systems, and effective city branding to maximise the competitiveness of waterfront cities.
“Jotun continues to revolutionize eco-friendly manufacturing processes by unveiling new and improved technologies and tools for materials handling. We continue to be an active industry proponent of environmental protection through initiatives such as our recycling program,” concluded Kristensen.
Jotun has invested around $25 million into research and development to ensure that their products are of the highest quality and have minimal environmental impact. It is one of the founding companies and in fact the only paint company included in the Emirates Green Building Council.-TradeArabia News Service
