200 firms take part in Saudi expo
Dhahran

More than 200 companies from 28 countries are taking part in the first Saudi Arabian Oil & Gas Conference & Exhibition (Saoge) which opened in Dhahran today (Nov 17).

The three-day event, held under the patronage of Prince Mohammed Bin Fahad Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, Governor of the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, was officially inaugurated by Zareeb Saeed Al-Qahtani, the Under Secretary of the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi Aramco-sponsored Saoge has stirred the interest of the international oil and gas industry pulling in over 2800 attendees on the first day of the show.

Attracting high level technical experts and key industry professionals from around the globe, the attendees will be given the opportunity to delve into the various issues, updates and advancements across all sectors of the oil and gas industry via a host of technical sessions that will take place over the three- day conference, said a statement.

Abdulla Abdulaziz Al-Naim, vice-president, Petroleum Engineering at Saudi Aramco, gave the keynote speech at the conference.
