KTS takes part in 'Brand USA' show
Kuwait City

Kuwait Transcontinental Shipping Co (KTS), a leading shipping and logistics service provider in Kuwait, has announced its successful participation at the ‘Brand USA 2008’ trade show, which concluded yesterday (Nov 18) at Salmiya in Kuwait City.

The trade show was organised by the American Business Council-Kuwait (ABC-K) to showcase premium US products and to facilitate closer business relationships between US and Kuwaiti firms.

At the three-day exhibition, KTS showcased its range of shipping and logistics services as well as its portfolio of projects particularly in the oil and gas sector. The company also highlighted the series of projects it has undertaken in Iraq as part of its involvement in the rebuilding of the country’s basic infrastructure. KTS has of late seen a dramatic increase in volumes going into Iraq from the US, as well as from Europe and Asia.

“Being the regional agent for American President Line for over 30 years, and representing some of the largest US consolidators, KTS has played a creditable role in helping advance US-Kuwait trade,” said Mikko Wieru, general manager of KTS.

“KTS’ participation in ‘Brand USA 2008’ was designed to strengthen the company’s business ties with existing US-based partners and to explore opportunities for new strategic alliances, and we are delighted with the results we have been able to achieve.”

Kuwait is the United States’ fifth largest trade partner in the Middle East; bilateral trade between the two countries was pegged at over $6.1 billion in 2006. – TradeArabia News Service
