DM officials to discuss food-related issues

The officials of Dubai Food Control department will answer queries from the public on the civic services under the 'Managers on Air' programme, a new Dubai Municipality initiative, on August 27.

The initiative facilitates anyone with a query or complaint to talk directly with senior officials of the civic body on specific days.

During the second session of 'Managers on Air' on Wednesday, public can dial toll free 800 4 999 from 10am to 12 noon and talk to Khalid Sharif Al Awadhi, director of Food Control Department on topics related to food safety, said a DM press release.

They can also discuss on rumours that spread through emails about different types of food or anything concerning food establishments including restaurants, coffee-shops and cafeterias.

Khalid AbdulRahim, irector of Customer Relations Department, said the 'Managers on Air' initiative would facilitate an easy and smooth interaction between the public and the officials.

"We are using an advanced calls management system with a group of experienced and friendly staff from the Corporate Marketing and Relations Department, Customer Relations Department, Administrative Services Section and the hosting department in each session," he noted.

He added that this initiative is aimed at bringing Dubai Municipality closer to the public and eliciting their valuable comments and feedback on the civic services and projects.

"This initiative has been discussed in detail at a recent meeting of the municipality's senior management who offered all support for the move as this can go a long way in accomplishing a higher level of customer satisfaction," AbdelRahim said.

The service would be offered on a rotation basis to the public from those department that have direct relations with external customers such as Public Parks and Horticulture Department, Food Control Department, Public Health Services Department, Waste Management Department and Environment Department.

He assured that the comments, suggestions and grievances raised by the public would be taken seriously and all efforts would be made by Dubai Municipality to correct the flaws and simplify procedures for availing each and every service offered by its various departments.-TradeArabia News Service
