Intel CEO to launch key projects in Egypt
Cairo

Intel chairman Craig Barrett will mark his third visit to Egypt in December when he will launch key initiatives in the education and IT (Information Technology) sectors.

He will hold meetings with senior government officials, educators and business leaders, said a statement.

“As one of the most important emerging markets, our global chairman’s visit supports Intel’s long-term commitment to Egypt and its booming IT industry,” commented Dr Khaled Elamrawi, Intel’s general manager Egypt, Levant and North Africa.

“Over 70 per cent of Intel’s business and growth comes from emerging markets such as Egypt. At Intel Egypt, we realise the significance of collaborating with the IT ecosystem and local communities in order to empower tomorrow’s generation of innovators.”

According to Elamrawi, the chairman will take this opportunity to make key announcements regarding Intel’s educational and technological initiatives in Egypt.

To date, more than 160,000 teachers have been trained through the successful Intel Teach Program.

Intel continues to support educators in Egypt, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.-TradeArabia News Service
