UAE announces four-day public holidays

The UAE has announced a four-day holiday for employees of ministries and federal government departments, beginning November 30 until Sunday (December 3) to mark Prophet Mohammad's (PBUH) birthday, the National Day, and the Commemoration Day, reported state news agency Wam.

The work will resume on Monday (December 4), said the report, citing a circular from Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR).

The circular came in accordance with the provisions of the Cabinet's Decision No. 13 for 2012 concerning the executive regulations of the Human Resources Law in the federal government and its amendments, which sets the official holidays of the ministries and federal bodies in the country, said the report.

The FAHR extended its greetings to President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, HHH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, and the people of the UAE, it added.
