Hertz UAE rewards customers on anniversary
Dubai

Hertz UAE said it has launched a 90-day promotion for daily, weekly and monthly car rental customers, in celebration of the global Hertz brand's 90th anniversary.

The deal entitles Hertz UAE customers to earn double Air Miles with every rental, commencing September, the month the company was founded in 1918, 90 years ago.

Air Mile cardholders currently receive one free Air Mile for every dirham spent on pre-paid international reservations booked through the Hertz UAE International Reservations Centre, but for three months these rewards will be doubled for all local and international bookings.

Hertz customers can make an international reservation in person or on the phone and receive double Air Miles when quoting their unique promotional number, sent to them by Air Miles.

Bonus Air Miles can be exchanged for a huge selection of goods ranging from air tickets and spa treatments, to electronic items and jewellery.

Nigel Johnson, general manager of Hertz UAE said: "Hertz has partnered with Air Miles in the Middle East for more than five years. Its members receive discounts of up to ten per cent on rental bookings in the US, Canada, Latin America and the Far East and five per cent discounts when booking a car in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.”

Ninety years ago, a small car rental company began in Chicago under the name of Walter L Jacobs, with only a dozen Model T Fords.

Hertz received its now internationally known name in 1923 when John Hertz took over the flourishing car rental business and Hertz is now the world’s largest rental company.

Hertz came to the UAE in 1993 and is part of the Al-Futtaim group of companies. The company recently marked 15 years in the Emirates with a new branch opening in Dubai Festival City.

One of the leading car rental and leasing companies in the Emirates, Hertz has a strong customer base and is forging ahead with major expansion plans worth Dh60 million ($16.3 million) in 2008.

Three new branches and two mega-sites are set to open this year, including a branch and service centre in Dubai Investment Park, next to the new Al Maktoum International Airport.

Hertz UAE has a young, well maintained fleet, provides customers with a high level of service and the company was recently recognised as a Superbrand at this year’s Dubai Superbrands Awards. - TradeArabia News Service
