VISA REQUIREMENTS
  The Algeria tourist or business visa is usually valid for entry within 45 days from the issue date provided the passport remains valid; the visa is then valid for three months from the first entry date.Applicants identified as religious visitors or missionaries,may face considerable delays with the issue of visas.
   

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS
  A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required if arriving within six days of leaving or transiting through infected areas. Anti-malarial precautions are advisable during summer in Saharan regions.
   

CUSTOM REGULATIONS
  Visitors can bring up to 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 250mlof tobacco with them as well as one bottle of spirits (opened) and two bottles of wine. All valuable personal items including electrical goods, jewellery, cameras, video cameras, etc. should be recorded on the Currency Declaration Form on entry as there have been instances where visitors who have neglected to do so have had their personal effects confiscated upon departure.

CURRENCY REGULATIONS
  No restriction on the import of foreign currency but it must be declared on arrival. Visitors must change the equivalent of US$ 150 on arrival. Proof of all foreign exchange transactions must be shown on departure. The import and export of local currency is limited to AD200. Visitors are advised to check in advance with credit card companies to ascertain card acceptability in Algeria.
